Happy Birthday Dwarf Planets ~ 25 August 2011

It was five years ago yesterday that Pluto - with Eris - got kicked out of the planet club, creating the astronomical category “dwarf planet,” corrupting the truth of astronomy text books and pissing off astrologers beyond belief. Say astrologers, “We know Pluto’s a planet, what’s wrong with them?” To which “they” reply, “we know Eris is more a planet than Pluto, what’s wrong with them?”

First, in honor of all dwarf planets, a moment to consider a newly reported subset of brown dwarfs, called Y dwarfs, who have been receiving a good bit of online attention. No doubt you’ll be hearing about Y dwarfs in blogs and online posts soon. Y? These dwarfs are cool - temperature-wise that is; some measure colder than a human body. They are difficult to spot in visible light spectrums. See why we need to know about them? Next thing you know, Y dwarfs will be Planet X, Nibiru and out to get ya. It could easily become a reissue of invisible planets that the government is hiding from us, which is why these have been notably documented on astronomical and science news pages lately, right? Irony implied.

So if you read that Y dwarfs are the new cosmic boogeymen under the bed, take a cue from them. Chill. All the Y dwarfs found orbit other stars, which means they are no incoming wayward planet threats.

Now about those puny, pesky dwarf planets that most astrologers pretend do not exist. How many of these dang things are there? Here’s a breakdown according to Mike Brown:

As of Wednesday, August 24, 2011 there are:

8 objects which are nearly certainly dwarf planets.

31 objects which are highly likely to be dwarf planets.

60 objects which are likely to be dwarf planets.

102 objects which are probably dwarf planets.

390 objects which are possibly dwarf planets.

Of the above here are the guys we need to think about most, according to diameters, largest to smallest, and nearly certain to be dwarf planets: Eris, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, 225088, Sedna, Quaoar and Orcus. In the category of highly likely to be a dwarf planet is 84522 (originally designated 2002 TC302) and by size this body ranks in between Sedna and Quaoar according to current data.

Are Those puny, pesky planets promising in terms of our consciousness and understanding events in life? The answer is a resounding “yes!” With new software updates, it’s easy to work with all these bodies, observe the transits to and transits from. The results are impressive and delineations of these bodies are often the stuff of which epiphanies are composed.

Posted on my website on the Eris, Sedna etc. hyperlink on my home page you can find keywords for all of the above nearly certain dwarf planets. However, 84522 is a newcomer to my realm of consideration, let me note a few things about this body. Its north node weighs in at 23 Aries 49, with a perihelion degree of 19 Cancer 37. Currently the body transits 8 Taurus 11.

Given its orbital period of 415.66 years, when named, the body should have a transformation, resurrection or creation nomenclature. Given the orbital elements in Aries and Cancer, the planet’s theme stresses personal care of the cow, that moo being you. Nurture the spirit, personal confidence and keep the ego/spirit axis in a good balance. With this possible planet’s transit through Taurus it is soon to be joined for the second time in recent weeks by Jupiter’s retrograde retreat. This creates an attitude of embellishing and saturating the psyche with whatever images of resourcefulness and inner value one can conjure between now and early October and again with the third passage from Jupiter next March. Perhaps the theme seems familiar with other recent Galactic Times renderings. It is.

All points on the planetary compasses - dwarf, classical, Y dwarf or unknown - converge on the direction of each individual becoming clearer on whom they are, what they need and what they have to offer. Souls in bodies of people with such awareness tend to be calmer, less likely to rattle, more reliable and the center of a solar system of folks not as grounded. The more individuals with solar system integrative consciousness, the better the planet upon which we reside.

Honestly I now believe the demotion of Pluto and Eris five years ago might have been a blessing. To consider Pluto, logically an astrologer must consider the other dwarf planets to be of equal merit. Each of the dwarf planets directly contributes to evolutionary and transformation provoking events and realizations. A person tuning into the vastness of influences in the outer solar system, where connection to the greater beyond is clearer, possesses more tools, albeit subtle tools, to work their path and personal evolution.

Happy Birthday, dwarf planets. Here’s to the gang of you... the promising ones, the pithy (in all contexts of that descriptor) ones, the potent ones and the ones seeking our recognition and propitiation.

Stay tuned!
